For the Christian, Faith has its origin in Trust, and Trust has its orgin in Belief, and Belief has its origin in Truth and Evidence, The Truth and Evidence that our Heavenly FATHER is Holy, Pure, Good, Love, and Sovereign, and His sole desire is to always love us, bless us, and do good to us. So our Fatih is in the goodness of our FATHER desires to always do good to us. When we ask Him for something, we have Faith that HE will do it, and we will recieve it, because that is HIS desire to always do good for us. We simply have Faith and leave the outcome to Him, and whatever the outcome is when HE answers, it will be according to His good will for us.

Faith produces works as James says and as demonstrated throughout the bible. Our faith in Christ means we should obey his words. His words said to keep his commandments. 1 John 5 covers Faith in Christ and Love for one another and God which has been his message the whole time of Loving God first then your neighbor as yourself. Paul also picks up on it in romans 3:31 Romans 3:31 NLT [31] Well then, if we emphasize faith, does this mean that we can forget about the law? Of course not! In fact, only when we have faith do we truly fulfill the law. 1 John 5:1-3 KJV [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. It is God that teaches his children through the Holy Spirit. The guidance and teachings of God comes from the supernatural John 14:26. It comes to those that are truly saved by the baptism of the holy spirit. Jesus said I will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and it will be as an unquenchable fire in Matthew 3:11.

Inserting "Sin" into that text is very inaccurate. "That Love God" is the condition. The Bible defines what loving God is: 1 John 4:20-21 1 John 5:3 Romans 13:10 Ephesians 5:2 James 2:5-26 John 14:15 Sin is NEVER ok... if a true believer is caught up in "Sin" 1 John 1:9 is the answer & that's it. Sin does not work for the good - Romans 6:23 Love rejoices in TRUTH 1 Corinthians 13:6. Find comfort in the TRUTH. It would be wrong to insert "Sin" in Philippians 4:8 "whatsoever things" because the text does not support "Sin"...Neither does Romans 8:28 support the insertion of "Sin".
